The City of Eatonton is preparing to kick off the 2024 Eatonton Youth Leadership Class and invite 11th and 12th grade students to apply! (Please see eligibility requirements below.) Students who are interested in participating may access the registration application by clicking on the link below:
2024 EYL Participant Application
Registration applications should be submitted on or before Friday, January 26, 2024. Students will be selected based on the responses provided in the application.
Eligibility requirements:
- Youth must be enrolled in grades 11 or 12 at Putnam County High School, Gatewood School, or home-schooled students of Putnam County, Georgia.
- Youth must commit to attend the scheduled monthly meetings of Eatonton Youth Leadership, with two excused absences permitted. The program will begin February 15, 2024 and end May 15, 2024.
- Youth must commit to complete 10 hours of community service during the program year.
The first 6 participants that enroll on or before the deadline will be eligible to attend the 2024 Youth Forum sponsored by the Georgia Municipal Association and Georgia City Solutions in Atlanta, GA February 9-11, 2024. All expenses will be provided by the City of Eatonton. This weekend event will bring together Youth Councils from all over the state of Georgia. Participants will have the opportunity to connect and network with other youth councils, share their youth council accomplishments, participate in leadership workshops, and gain practical skills through simulations and teamwork activities. The Forum will kick-off Friday evening with registration, an ice-breaker event and dinner, continue all-day Saturday with an outing that evening, and conclude mid- to late-morning on Sunday.
