The City Center parking lot was officially opened at a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by Mayor John Reid and the Downtown Development Authority on Monday, February 23. The new parking lot, with entrances on North Jefferson Avenue, East Marion Street, and Willie Bailey Street, adds 80 downtown parking spaces. The project was funded by a combination of City SPLOST funds and grants.
In the coming months, the City Center Performance Stage will be constructed as Phase 2 of the project. The 720 sq. ft. covered stage will provide a venue for a variety of events and performances.
The City is proud of the work done by the Downtown Development Authority in overseeing the project and is excited to offer this much needed downtown parking.
